In my Prosperous Soul Foundations E-Course, I ask my students to do a prophetic exercise. I start by having them visualize themselves standing in a river. I take this idea from Revelation:

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb… — 22:1 ESV

I ask them to imagine the river’s crystal-blue water and the gentle current carrying gifts toward them from the throne.

I do this because I want to illustrate how God brings opportunities to us in daily life. These treasures, which can be plans and strategies, hopes and long-held desires, are all good, but some give more life to us than others.

You see, in the Kingdom, good is the enemy of best. When you do this exercise, ask God which gifts are best for you in this season, then reach out and take hold of the ones He highlights.
