Here’s a prophetic exercise that has brought tremendous fruit to my clients. We’ll adapt it slightly since we’re not in a live classroom, but the core concept remains the same.
To do the exercise: Take a sticky note (or a piece of paper), and write down one thing that’s holding you back.
Keep it simple. Is it fear? A poverty spirit? An addiction?
Once you’ve written down your obstacle, go outside to your trash bin (most homes have one outdoors) and declare: “This is a prophetic act demonstrating that this obstacle has no more hold over me. I forsake it in Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
After praying, toss the paper in the trash, and consider it done.
It’s important to discard this paper outside. Doing so symbolizes your stepping out in boldness and removing spiritual garbage.
Insight from Scripture
I include all these steps because repentance is more than just saying, “Sorry, Lord. I’ll do better next time.”
True repentance requires physical action.
In Jonah, physical action backed by repentance lead to the deliverance of an entire city:
“[The king of Nineveh] arose from his throne, removed his robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And he issued a proclamation… ‘Let everyone turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who knows? God may turn and relent…’” — Jonah 3:6-9 ESV
The people fasted and begged God for mercy. They were serious about change, and the Lord spared them from disaster.
How does this relate to Prosperous Soul and money?
Here’s the thing about financial increase. It exposes what’s already inside of you. If anything in your heart is sinful or unhealthy, money will magnify it.
Today, be bold. Ask God, “Are there any obstacles in my life I need to remove?” If He shows you something, find a trusted person to confess to. Then, ask the Lord to forgive and restore you.
